Project Solution
Climatec advised the design and construction teams tasked to this project and developed a sophisticated sequence of operations. The mechanical design employed a decoupled outside air system with a third-party dedicated carbon dioxide sensing software. The integration of the CO2 system into the control sequences significantly reduced unnecessary outside air intake, while each classroom enjoys dedicated outside air and temperature control. Through innovative building metering and sub-metering, Alvin ISD is now experiencing real-time energy savings.
The central plant houses 3 centrifugal water chillers, 3 cooling towers, and their associated pumps, complemented by 2 hot water condensing boilers. Climatec also exercises full control over the Natatorium central plant, complete with 2 additional boilers and a heat exchanger expertly regulating pool water temperature.
The scope of Climatec's expertise includes control of 40+ air handlers, an energy recovery unit, seven fan coil units, and a remarkable 400+ terminal units. Climatec also commands exterior lighting, utility metering and sub-metering. The integration of lab valves and indoor air quality has ensured the highest levels of efficiency and sustainability for Alvin ISD.
A future junior high school, that is under construction, will be located on a two-story facility nestled within a 200-acre master-planned site. This ensures the district remains well-equipped to meet growth demand. Together, Climatec and Alvin ISD are fostering an educational environment where excellence flourishes, innovation knows no bounds, and the future is brighter than ever envisioned.
