As part of their efforts, SDGE has been in the process of consolidating their decentralized data center environment for the last ten years. Since 2006, they have enhanced their mechanical systems and building control systems to achieve a 15% reduction in energy costs with a 27% increase in server count. With infrastructure improvements and a fully-integrated data monitoring system, SDG&E has been able to increase reliability over 80%.
